2024-11-30
All lights are now up and ready.
The signs and the news for this year is up.
The newly built flowerbed has turned into a
scene with two snowmen and a penguin.
On the inside all lights in the windows are up
and the conservatory has been decked.
2024-11-18
We are ahead of schedule and almost ready.
During this weekend the last lightstrings have been
installed and all strings have been tested and fixed.
With a computer hooked up to the controllers, I can
easily test each and every lightstring and RGB pixel.
We are starting to get ready for the light up on
1st of December. Only signs and this years news
are still to be installed.
2024-11-11
After this weekend is 33000 lights now installed.
The minitree, packages and Mickey Mouse silhoettes
with RGB pixel lights is now in place.
To the small boxes is the smart RGB pixel lighs wired
and between those is only a simple data wire running.
Soon its just about wiring the last bits and then
to start testing the lightshow.
In front of the computer it is hard work to make
three new songs, which haven't been included before,
syncronized to the lights.
2024-11-05
We are now into November and closing in onto
December when its time to light up.
The Disneyland castle has been installed,
with its 3250 lights.
It goes quite fast to put up, because its built
like a movie set backdrop.
What takes more time is all the 65 lightstrings
that need to be hooked up into the 5 control boxes.
Then all fruit trees have got their lightstrings.
and also the santa sleigh have been put up.
Last year the santa sleigh got new RGB lights which
are controled by the black box at the backside of
the sleigh. Now only around 2100 lights remain.
2024-10-28
Now are 24629 lights installed.
The white artificial trees have been put up
and have all this year been replaced with new,
fresh ones. Every tree has a white, a red and a
blue light string which i can control.
The fountain was also installed this weekend.
Then I put up all the light in the hedges around
the garden. One of the hedges have been replaced
with a new yew hedge, which will need some years
to grow. So until then I needed to redesign a bit.
The hedges have multicolor lights and a string of
amber colored lights. Both controllable in the show.
2024-10-21
The work progressing according to the plan and
20000 lights are now in place, 60%.
I have done this in quite many years now, so I know
how long time each part takes to do and how much
will need to be done each weekend to make it in time.
The biggest megatree that I build is 5 meters high.
Last year I changed the lights on it to RGB pixel lights.
An advantage with those is that I need less lights to do
the same work as the previous lights, which makes it
quicker to install.
Previously I needed 600 white, 600 red and 600 blue lights.
Now I instead have 2000 RGB pixels, which can be controlled
to any color that I want.
I also had 1000 amber colored lights wrapped around. These
are not longer needed since I can do the same effect with
the RGBs and more than that.
With this I am actually abit ahead in schedule, so I had
time to install the large control box.
It controls a part of the lights and send the show
informations out to the other control boxes
that are spread out in the garden.
2024-10-14
14511 lights is now installed.
During the weekend I hoisted 2500 lights up in the
two large fir trees. When hoisted I hang them to their
proper position when my long extendable rod.
Another strand is then hung up and winded down the tree.
It creates the sparkling effect, which also can be seen
on for example the eiffel tower.
During sunday the leaping arches, minitrees and the
advent candles where installed in their usual spots.
2024-10-07
Second weekend is done and almost 10000 lights are
now up. The house have all lights installed and
the garage has its usal strands as well.
The icicles, which is attached along the roofline, is
hoisted like a flag on a flagpole.
Two fir trees have got their strands. The bullfinch birds,
which I got last year has landed on their spots.
2024-09-30
Autumn is here and christmas isn't too far away.
Time to start decorating to be able to make it in time.
Over 34000 lights on 466 light strings will be installed,
with a total lenght of 3 km.
During this weeked 6218 lights have been put up.
I always start on the house and then work
my way out in the garden.
