1st Advent is here. Im happy that all the lights are up and working.
Planning for next year has allready started. I love this.
Here is some building pictures, that takes you behind the scenes:
* On picture 1 you can see the sponsor sign.
* On picture 2 there is the new mega-mini-tree which came out really well. I love the colors of the lights and the chaser does very neat stuff. Its perfect, even it has only 500 lights. Next year I will put layers of lights on it!
* On picture 3 you see a mini tree. Has only 50 lights each. I have 12 trees like this one dancing around the mega-mini-tree.
* In picture 4 you see a weatherproofbox with a chaser controling 6 mini trees. It can handle 1A = 220W.
* Picture 5 show another box with a chaser for a 24V lightstring.
* Picture 6 shows the santa sleigh made of ropelights. It has almost 1000 lights.
* On picture 7 you can see a candycane made of ropelights 1 m red and 1 m yellow. I have 5 candycanes and between them runs a 12 m long multicolor ropelight controlled by a chaser. 1008 lights total with candycanes in count.
Thats what I have. If you have any questions. Dont hesitate to ask me in the guestbook and I'll give you answears and more pictures.

36% of the lights is now up. On saturday I put up all the icicles around the house. Horisontal between 1st and 2nd floor. (The one on the south side is the same as the one I had on the front 2005.)
On the front I have put up 12 meters of "Snoweffect" icicles, they look really good with transparent cables. I want to plug them in now!! :D
On sunday I put up 520 lights divided on 3 trees. Also put my 120 ligths flashing-led-string in the little cute 4 feet spruce. In the week now I will install all the powerneeds and cables to plug in all my lights. So expect some testpictures of the new lights soon. Next weekend all the new (and old)
homemade stuff will be put up.

This weekend I have put up a little invention under the roof.
Its a "clothesline" type of thing, where I attach my iciclelightstrings with zip-ties and just pull them up. No need of a high ladder anymore. See pictures bellow for a simple drawing. It has a function that allow me to tighten it up, so the strings dont hang in "banana-shape".
I just worked with the display on the sunday, because it rained alot on saturday. But I did manage to get all strings up on northside and also lights around the windows on second floor. See pictures bellow. I will add icicles on the horisontal line between first and secondfloor. I will do the same now on southside, by just pulling up the strings.

Finally, its less then a month left. I have set 1st of December 4 PM, as a target.
Today I fixed some lightstrings and rebuilt some weatherprof boxes.
I will only have Starbrights in one of the spruces this year. One reason is that they have grown so much, so I choose the smallest. Another reason is that it will look amazing with twice amount of lights than earlier years. The spruces is on the left of the house in the background.
I unpacked the lights from last year and checked if the worked properly. Im trying to make a plan where to start, cause I have to move the boxes to new places and make sure to use the cables where they fit. I have 3 dedicated 10Amp circuits. (In Sweden we have 230V system, so more voltage means less Amps)
I have made a database of everylightstring to make the count of lights, amps and placing easier. It looks like I have, at the moment, 9534 lights on 109 lightstrings (total lenght 587,3 metres). 3815Watts eqals 3,8 kW/h. But I aim on 10000 lights, so 466 lights needed. :)
The exact numbers will be announced on the 1st of December together with the first pictures of everything switched on!
